The STIHL HSA 86 cordless hedge trimmer has a 24" / 62 cm blade length and is designed for use on larger, thicker hedges, and is perfect for both professional gardeners and landscapers as well as homeowners.

The diamond ground blade has double sided double-edged cutter teeth with optimised blade spacing for handling thicker branches. This, coupled with its powerful and efficient electric motor, constant stroke rate, and lightweight construction, contribute to clean and easy cutting on even the densest shrubs, bushes, and hedges.

For those larger gardens and parks, the AP system of lithium ion batteries available to this machine offer impressive continuous run times, ranging from up to 72 minutes with the AP 100 to 223 minutes with the AP 300 S. This being more than enough for tackling multiple difficult hedges. Run times can even be extended further with the AR system of backpack batteries, all the way to 800 minutes with the AR 3000.

The motor housing also has a functional design, allowing for easy cleaning and prevents the tool from ever getting caught on branches.

Due to it being a cordless hedge trimmer, there is also no need to worry about tangled cables, petrol fumes, or even engine maintenance.

Top Tips

Storing your HSA 66

Store your HSA 66 in a clean and dry area and keep out of the reach of children at all times. The HSA 66 has a handy eyelet on the handle so it can be hung on a hook in the shed.

Using the HSA 86

You will get a straighter cut on your hedges, if you move the hedge trimmer in an upwards motion when trimming. The HSA 86 has a handy tip protector at the end of the blades, so you can trim closer to the ground without damaging the blades.

Cleaning your HSA 86

When you have finished using the hedge trimmer, remove the battery and wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth. We also suggest spraying a little resin solvent, like STIHL Superclean, onto the blades to remove sap or resin, protect them from corrosion and stop them getting stuck together.

Looking after your battery

Don't use a damp or wet battery in your HSA 86 and avoid using them in extreme temperatures (very hot or very cold)
