Product Description

The STIHL RM 655 RS is a 20” petrol lawnmower with a high-quality rear roller. It is suited to professionals mowing larger gardens up to 2500 m2 in size.

Easy traditional stripe finishes can be applied utilising this machine’s rear roller. Unlike some rollers, the one on this machine is highly manoeuvrable due to its split pattern and its weight is optimally distributed to avoid ground damage, even in wet conditions.

This lawnmower also features a large, well-designed 70-litre grass box. Being a box rather than a bag, it doesn't get damp. This allows for optimal air flow at all times, reducing the likelihood of clogging. The box is also very easy to empty due to the space saving handle and convenient lid opening.

Moreover, STIHL’s highlift blade technology improves cutting performance by generating strong air currents to lift the grass upright before cutting – ensuring a clean, professional finish every time.

Finally, the RM 655 RS features a blade brake clutch allowing you to keep the engine running without the blades working. This is great for emptying the grass box and moving from lawn to lawn without the need to re-start the engine.

Central cutting height adjustment

The central cutting height adjustment on this STIHL battery-powered lawn mower is spring- loaded making it easy to operate, and has several adjustment levels to obtain the desired cutting height for the lawn. The current height is indicated by a scale. In this way, the grass can always be optimally adapted to the conditions of the lawn surface and the use.

Rear roller

This lawn roller lends the STIHL lawn mower great stability, which is great for mowing edges around borders and flower beds. When mowing, the lawn roller smooths the blades of grass in the direction of travel, creating the characteristic striped pattern on the freshly-mown lawn.

Easy start engine (ReadyStart)

Thanks to the ReadyStart technology, the engine of the STIHL petrol lawn mower can be reliably started up with minimal effort both during cold and warm starting.

Self-propelled

Self-propelled STIHL lawn mowers take the effort out of lawn mowing. The drive mechanism propels the mower without it physically having to be pushed. This makes working easier, especially on large lawns and inclines.

Blade brake clutch

The blade brake clutch disengages the blade and engine to protect the crankshaft. This allows the grass catcher box to be emptied without restarting the engine. The mower can also be driven around the garden without the blades working.

The plastic grass catcher box can be easily opened end emptied thanks to its folding mechanism. The current of air produced during mowing blows the clippings into the grass catcher box and ensures a high degree of filling. Thanks to the downward- facing vanes, the air is guided sideways towards the ground, preventing dirt from being thrown up. The level indicator signals the correct time for emptying. The airflow generated by the blade raises the level indicator. When the basket is full, the airflow stops. If the airflow is too low, the level indicator returns to its idle state and this is an indication to empty the catcher box. Optimal airflow is required in order for the level indicator to function fully. External influences such as wet, dense or tall grass, a low cutting height, contamination, etc. may affect the airflow and the performance of the level indicator.

The easy-running wheels of our cordless lawn mowers are extremely robust and hard-wearing. They have been equipped with a traction pattern and directional stability tread pattern for effortless manoeuvring and perfect line holding during mowing.
